Accelerated BSN program – does it really work?

Will you get the same work that a registered nurse will get? Will you get the same knowledge that a registered nurse will get? These are the common questions that aspiring students ask teacher from schools, colleges and universities that offer Accelerated BSN program.

The answer is YES. Supposedly accelerated nursing program is taught to match the curriculum of schools, colleges and universities that offer the full 4 to 5 year Bachelor of Nursing course. The curriculum and the phasing however would be more rigid because you have to fit in the whole course in the dedicated time span. The time span can last anywhere from several months to 2 years.

Licensed Practical Nurses are not exempt from this short course. In fact they can opt to join LPN to RN programs or courses. This will be much easier for them because they already have a background on health care and all who are interested to join are always welcome. Accelerated nurse practitioner program is also a popular way of getting a higher degree.

A nurse practitioner is defined as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has completed graduate-level education (either a Master’s or a Doctoral degree). Additional APRN roles include the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)s, CNMs, and CNSs. Once and LPN is done with the program they can opt to go for this. They will then be qualified for so many opportunities.

Accelerated BSN program is as great as regular 4 year course. It gets you the training you need and when you need it. Plus you get it in a shorter time span. What more can you ask for?
